He grew up in West Des Moines, studied at Florida Keys Community College before finishing at Iowa State University, got licensed at the end of 2018 while still a student, and graduated in 2019 with a degree in Business Management and an Entrepreneurship minor. He joined the Flanders Team in early 2020, the same year he bought his first house hack in Ames. He is the creator of House Hack Jack, an educational YouTube, TikTok and Instagram channel that teaches first-time buyers and investors how to use owner-occupant financing to buy homes that pay them back. Full bio. Jackson Krile is a Central Iowa REALTOR® and the creator of House Hack Jack, an educational real estate channel focused on first-time buyers, house hackers and small investors across the Des Moines and Ames metros.
He grew up in West Des Moines and attended Valley High School, studied at Florida Keys Community College for a year and a half, then returned to Iowa and finished at Iowa State University in Business Management with an Entrepreneurship minor. He interned with RE/MAX Lakes Realty in Okoboji while still a full-time student, got licensed at the end of 2018 about six months before graduating, and joined the Flanders Team at RE/MAX Real Estate Center in Ames in early 2020 under the mentorship of founder Lloyd Flanders.
In the years since, the Flanders Team has closed 345+ real estate transactions across more than $101M in volume since 2018, serving first-time buyers in Polk and Story counties, people relocating to Central Iowa for Iowa State or downtown Des Moines employers, investors evaluating duplex and walk-out-ranch house-hack opportunities, and move-up sellers preparing for their next chapter.
In 2022 he launched House Hack Jack, teaching Central Iowans how to use FHA owner-occupant financing on duplexes, multi-bedroom single-family homes and walk-out ranches to reduce their housing cost and build long-term equity. He house hacks the homes he sells. He and his wife Kat started 2026 with four house hack properties and sold one earlier in the year, and today own three full-time rentals, every one of them bought by house hacking. He has filmed the process throughout, including the parts that went sideways.
